Amazing vinyl edition of “Eternal Turn of the Wheel”, the notable ninth studio album by Ukrainian band Drudkh, which marks a partial return to more familiar atmospheric black metal territory after the more ethereal experimentation of their previous work, restoring a stronger presence of distorted guitars and a more solemn, melancholic atmosphere, with more compact compositions and a balance between restrained aggression and melody, repetitive riffs unfolding organically and evoking the passing of the seasons as well as the constant cycle of nature. Compared to the more shoegaze-oriented approach of “Handful of Stars”, the sound here returns to a dimension closer to their roots, albeit with clearer production and a mature compositional focus, shaping a cohesive and evocative work that reaffirms Drudkh’s identity and their ability to evolve without losing their naturalistic essence.
