Fantastic reissue by Season of Mist, featuring fully remastered audio along with completely new artwork and a 12-page booklet, of “Forgotten Legends”, the impressive debut album by Ukrainian band Drudkh, undoubtedly one of the cornerstones of early 2000s atmospheric black metal, a work that defined much of the epic and nature-driven sound the band would further develop in later releases. Composed of three expansive pieces and a brief instrumental epilogue, the record is built upon long, simple and repetitive riffs that generate a hypnotic sensation, prioritizing atmosphere and the evocation of nature over direct aggression, with compositions that unfold slowly and aim to immerse the listener in a melancholic and contemplative trance, eventually becoming a reference point within pagan and atmospheric black metal and the starting point of one of the genre’s most influential discographies.
