Not everything was meant to endure

Numbers have never defined our path, neither have appearances nor pretence. We are drawn to music born from passion, music that never tries to please, that tears you apart and consumes you, that settles deep within and never truly leaves... music meant to endure, to become timeless.

Every edition begins with a simple question:
«"Does this work truly deserve to be preserved?"»
If the answer is yes, the rest follows naturally.

We know only one way of doing this: with soul, with patience, and with an uncompromising attention to every detail, never for the sake of appearances. We work with artists who see their music the same way, who understand that not every work needs to reach everywhere, only the place where it truly belongs, and that a physical edition is never merely a format, but the natural extension of their own creation. Long ago, we stopped measuring a work by the number of copies it might sell. Seeing an artist recognise their own work in the edition they hold in their hands is one of the greatest rewards we could ask for, and knowing it will become one of those records proudly shown to others is all the confirmation we could ever need.

Our work is to do justice to every piece that passes through our hands. That is why we do not believe in long print runs, but in meticulous craftsmanship. Every work demands its own language, and only then does our work truly begin, allowing it to guide us to the artwork and the format that best express its identity. Sometimes that means an oversized digifile, sometimes a screen-printed wooden box, a hand-numbered edition or a collector's piece created to expand the world the work already inhabits, but always with one unwavering purpose: never to betray the original work

Darkwoods belongs to those who still understand music as a ritual: holding the weight of a record in their hands, feeling the texture of paper beneath their fingertips, breathing in the scent of ink and cardboard, hearing the gentle click of the CD player as it receives the disc, embracing the silence before the first note, and allowing the music to unfold at its own pace, exactly as it was meant to be experienced.

Some records are simply heard. Others are preserved.
