Chaos A.D.

Fifth full-length studio album from the Brazilian legends Sepultura, and undoubtedly one of the most important records in their entire career, “Chaos A.D.” marked a decisive turning point in the evolution of the band, leaving behind much of the death/thrash aggression of “Arise” in favour of a heavier, slower and far more groove-oriented approach, opening the door to a completely new era for their sound. Featuring classics such as “Refuse/Resist”, “Territory”, “Slave New World” or the tribal acoustic piece “Kaiowas”, this was the album where Sepultura truly became something unique within heavy music.

Produced by Andy Wallace and originally released in 1993, “Chaos A.D.” saw the band incorporating elements of hardcore punk, industrial music and Brazilian rhythms into their already crushing formula, creating a record whose influence would reach far beyond metal itself.
