Verbum Luciferi

An authentic Luciferian black mass is what Sicilian band Krowos bring to life on “Verbum Luciferi”, their second full-length studio album, conceived as a dark ritual of six extensive compositions in which black metal becomes a vehicle for exploring their particular esoteric vision of life and death. Thus, this genuine ritual of invocatory black metal takes Christian and Catholic prayers and transforms them into a personal Luciferian mass, with all lyrics written, performed and sung in Latin.

Raw, dark and deeply esoteric, “Verbum Luciferi” draws from the black metal of the nineties, combining merciless assaults with slower and more ceremonial passages, melodies with a distinctly Mediterranean character, classical guitars, clean vocals and a powerful choral presence that lends the compositions an especially ritualistic dimension. Recorded and mixed by Frozen at Underground Frozen's Studio and mastered by the great Magnus “Devo” Andersson at Endarker Studio, the album develops a dense and sombre atmosphere where violence, melody and darkness coexist, giving shape to a work that is as distinctive as it is cohesive. Highly recommended for fans of early Rotting Christ, Varathron, In Tormentata Quiete and Inchiuvatu.
