Presented in a spectacular deluxe 6-panel digipak with silver foil and 16-page booklet, “The Apocryphal Spells” gathers 21 tracks on double CD drawn from the most scattered corners of the extensive discography of legendary Rotting Christ. This exhaustive compilation brings together singles, B-sides, bonus tracks, alternative versions, previously unreleased material and covers recorded throughout more than three decades of the band's career, collecting in a single release a substantial amount of material that had previously remained completely out of reach for the vast majority of their followers, scattered across special editions, splits, 7" EPs and other hard-to-find releases.

Among its 21 tracks are “Astral Embodiment”, “Welcome to Hel”, “Phóbos” and “The Sons of Hell”, originally released as bonus tracks on different albums, alongside “The Call”, “Spiritus Sancti”, “Naturdemonernas Lockrop: I 1000 Djävlars Namn” and “Vicious Joy and Black Delight”, taken from exclusive 7" EPs and splits, as well as previously unreleased material such as “I Am the Moonchild” and “Pir Threontai”, the latter remixed and remastered. The second CD is completed by three particularly significant covers, “Tormentor” and “Flag of Hate / Pleasure to Kill” by Kreator and “Black Sabbath” by Black Sabbath, making “The Apocryphal Spells” an essential compilation for completing any collection of Rotting Christ's more obscure and harder-to-find material.
